Question?
What is frameless glass fencing & railing?
Answer.
Frameless glass railing is a minimalist, modern system built with 1/2-inch tempered safety glass secured by refined stainless steel hardware. With no bulky posts or frames, the glass becomes the architecture - clean, elegant, and visually weightless.

Question?
What types of glass systems do you install?
Answer. We install both frameless and semi-frameless glass railing systems for exterior and interior applications.
Frameless systems use minimal hardware and no vertical posts, creating a clean, floating appearance.
Semi-frameless systems incorporate slim vertical posts for added structure while still maintaining an open, modern look.
Exterior:
• Pool fencing
• Deck and patio railings
• Balconies and terraces
• Walkways and overlooks
Interior:
• Stair railings
• Loft and mezzanine overlooks
• Interior balconies
• Hallway and landing railings
Question?
What type of glass do you use?
Answer.
We use 1/2-inch tempered safety glass for most installations, with 9/16-inch laminated tempered glass used in applications where building codes or structural requirements call for additional strength. Both options provide exceptional clarity, safety, and long-term performance.
Question?
What is tempered glass, and why is it used?
Answer.
Tempered glass is a specially strengthened safety glass created through a controlled heating and cooling process. This treatment increases its durability and ensures that, if damaged, it breaks into small, rounded pieces rather than sharp shards.
Tempered glass is the preferred standard for railing systems because it offers superior strength, safety, and long-term performance for both interior and exterior applications.

Question?
How strong is tempered glass?
Answer.
Tempered glass is four to five times stronger than standard annealed glass of the same thickness. Its increased rigidity and impact resistance make it ideal for railings, where stability, safety, and long-term durability are essential. When paired with precision-engineered hardware, it creates a secure, modern system designed to perform for years.
Question?
What is the clearest glass option?
Answer.
Low‑iron (Starphire®) glass offers the highest clarity and most color-neutral appearance. It is the preferred choice for premium interiors and high-visibility exterior applications where color neutrality and purity of view matter.

Question?
How are frameless glass fences and railings installed?
Answer.
Our frameless systems are installed using precision-engineered, surface-mounted stainless steel hardware. This method offers several advantages:
• A clean, modern appearance with minimal visual interruption
• Precise alignment and fine-tuning during installation
• Compatibility with a wide range of indoor and outdoor surfaces
• Preservation of waterproofing layers on elevated decks and balconies
Semi-frameless systems use a similar installation approach but incorporate slim vertical posts where the design or structure calls for them.
Question?
What materials and hardware do you use?
Answer.
We use high-grade stainless steel hardware selected for both beauty and durability. For coastal or high-exposure environments, we offer enhanced corrosion-resistant options to ensure lasting performance.
Question?
Can glass systems be customized for slopes, stairs, or elevation changes?
Answer.
Yes. Every system is individually measured and tailored to the architecture. We design for stairs, angled runs, grade changes, multi-level layouts, and complex transitions with seamless precision.
Question? What is the ordering process?
Answer.
1. On‑site measurement and design consultation
2. Layout, estimate, and contract approval
3. Materials ordered after approval and deposit
4. Installation scheduled once materials arrive
Tempered glass is custom-fabricated and cannot be modified after production, making precise measurement essential.
Question?
Are glass gates self‑closing?
Answer.
Yes. Our exterior gates feature premium Polaris soft-closing, self-latching hinges that deliver a smooth, controlled close and reliable safety performance.
Question?
What size are the glass panels?
Answer.
Panel sizes are determined by the layout and engineering requirements of your project. Standard gate widths are typically 36 inches, with custom sizing available
Question?
How are glass gates supported?
Answer.
Gates are typically supported by adjacent panels. When needed, a dedicated stainless steel gate post can be incorporated into the design.
Question?
Do you provide professional installation?
Answer.
Yes. Every system is installed by Elite Glass & Railing to ensure flawless alignment, structural integrity, and long-term performance.
Question?
Can I install a glass system myself?
Answer.
Glass railing installation requires precision, specialized tools, and experience. For safety and performance, professional installation is strongly recommended.
Question?
How long does installation take?
Answer.
Most projects are completed within three to four weeks from final measurement to installation, depending on design complexity and fabrication timelines.
Question?
How much does a frameless glass fence cost?
Answer.
Pricing varies based on layout, panel count, hardware selection, site conditions, and whether the installation is interior or exterior. A detailed written estimateis provided after an on-site consultation.
Question?
Do you offer financing?
Answer.
We do not currently offer in‑house financing, but many clients use home‑improvement or pool‑renovation financing through their bank or credit union.
Question?
How do I keep the glass clean?
Answer.
Routine cleaning with mild soap and water is typically all that's needed to maintain clarity.
For homeowners seeking enhanced protection, we offer a professional glass-surface treatment that creates a long-lasting barrier on the glass. This treatment helps repel water, reduce mineral buildup, minimize staining, and make ongoing maintenance noticeably easier.
Question?
What is the Diamond coating option?
Answer.
Our Diamond coating is a permanent, high-performance glass treatment that chemically bonds to the glass surface. It provides exceptional resistance to staining, etching, and mineral buildup, helping preserve clarity in demanding environments and reducing long-term maintenance. It is the most durable and effective protection available for both interior and exterior glass.
Question?
What if a glass panel is damaged?
Answer.
Individual panels or hardware components can typically be replaced without removing the entire system.
Question?
Can the fence layout be modified later?
Answer.
Yes, although modifications may require removing and replacing panels and hardware. Existing mounting points may need to be filled and could remain visible.
Question?
Is your glass fencing covered by a warranty?
Answer.
Every Elite Glass & Railing installation includes our three-year workmanship warranty. This covers the quality of our installation and ensures your system performs as intended.
All hardware is covered for three years.
All glass is covered for one year under the standard tempered glass warranty.
This warranty applies to both interior and exterior installations.
Question?
Do your systems meet local building codes?
Answer.
Yes. Our frameless glass fencing and railing systems are designed and installed to meet applicable local and state building codes.
